Seattle Travel Guide

Seattle in three words for me: green, Starbucks, and cold

Green because unlike Houston and most major cities, Seattle didn’t cut down most of their trees to build a city; they instead built around them.

Starbucks because it’s literally everywhere and yes, it’s headquartered here and you should definitely go to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery.

Cold because I’m a Houstonian and anything under 70°F is cold to me.

Now for the fun stuff! What should/could you do in gloomy Seattle?

1.Visit Starbucks Reserve Roastery! It’s beautiful and they have a special menu different from the other Starbucks; obviously you can still ask for your regular Starbucks order I’m sure.

2. Go to a dispensary. (it’s legal!) I went to Dockside and everyone was incredibly informative and nice.

3. GO TO SPIN! No, this isn’t a spin class. It’s a ping pongers dream come true.

4. Go to the Target downtown. It has a cool layout.

5. Perihion Brewery has the best beer I have ever tried in my life and I’ve tried a lot of craft beer. They also have really great food! I would definitely come back again.

6. Go to Pike Place Market. It’s crowded af and you won’t be able to really enjoy every little stand like you’d like to, but it’s a must see. I walked about every inch of it for about 40 minutes before I finally decided where to eat (fish tacos was not the move).

7. Go to Chinatown! I had some of THE best pho I’ve ever had at Pho Ba. They also have a pretty cool cafe called the Eastern Cafe. Oh oh oh and if you’re a lil hypebeast they have a store called Can’t Blame the Youth. They had a pretty good selection of clothes, but I didn’t end up buying anything because #slowfashion.

8. Go to Unicorn. It’s a very magical gay bar. All the bars around it reminds me of Sixth Street in Austin except they don’t close down the street for people to walk.

9. Go to Forge Lounge. It’s a little hidden, but once you’re in there you will realize that everyone in there knows each other somehow. It gave me HIMYM vibes.

10. TIP: Take the link light rail. It’s cheaper than taking ubers/lyfts and you get to see more of the city.

There’s obviously a lot more than you can do a little outside of the city, but I sadly didn’t get to see much of the nature-y stuff. But that just means I’ll have to go again.
